About the Maker…

Michaela “Kaela” Jerabek

Artist, Maker, Folk Crafter & Founder of Hedgemade Goods Co.

Michaela “Kaela” Jerabek is a self-taught artist, maker, and small business owner currently based in the Pacific Northwest. Since childhood, she has felt deeply connected to the natural world and drawn toward the quiet practice of creating things slowly and intentionally by hand. Her work is rooted in a lifelong appreciation for traditional crafts, sustainability, herbalism, folklore, and the subtle beauty found within everyday rituals.

Kaela founded Hedgemade Goods Co. in 2018 as a creative outlet for her handcrafted work, though it has since grown into a small independently run business centered around artisan body products, botanical goods, candles, fiber arts, jewelry, ritual pieces, and original artwork inspired by nature and old-world traditions.

Much of her inspiration comes from the landscapes that shaped her creative spirit, particularly the small coastal nooks and crannies surrounding Half Moon Bay, California, where rocky shorelines, towering redwoods, fishing villages, and windswept poppy-covered hills left a lasting impression on both her work and worldview. Her creations are also deeply influenced by Renaissance Faire culture, ancestral folk traditions, cottage craft, sustainable living practices, and observing the Earth’s seasonal rhythms through a hedge and kitchen craft perspective centered around creativity, seasonal living, and respect for the land.

Through Hedgemade Goods Co., Kaela strives to create pieces that feel personal, comforting, and intentionally made. Each item is handcrafted in small batches using carefully selected materials and ethically sourced ingredients whenever possible. Her work emphasizes sustainability, low-waste practices, handcrafted traditions, and the belief that handmade objects carry meaning, memory, and care.

In addition to handcrafted skincare and herbal-inspired goods, Kaela also creates knitted and crocheted fiber wear, the Nomadic Wanderer Collection of hair falls crafted from recycled, upcycled, and handspun yarns, hand-tooled jewelry, pendulums, candles, and mixed-media artwork. Every piece is infused with planning, intention, artistry, and time, designed to feel less like mass-produced goods and more like treasured objects gathered from a woodland apothecary or a traveling market stall tucked beneath the trees.

During the Spring and Summer seasons, Kaela travels throughout the Pacific Northwest and Northern California working the Renaissance Faire circuit while continuing to craft small made-to-order batches along the way. Hedgemade Goods Co. also accepts select wholesale opportunities and larger custom requests throughout the year when availability allows.

At its heart, Hedgemade Goods Co. exists as an extension of Kaela’s passion for creativity, sustainability, folklore, and handcrafted traditions, offering goods intended to bring warmth, beauty, comfort, and a little everyday magic into the lives of others.
